I love system-neutral setting books that cover the basics of an interesting region or culture. I’m a big fan of another setting book by this author, Krevborna: A Gothic Blood Opera, so I thought Cinderheim might make a good setting for a sword and sorcery campaign. I love the basic premise: a desert formed in ancient times by a magical weapon of war, populated by seven savage factions in seven demon haunted oases. That’s great stuff, but 44 pages isn’t enough to do it justice. I appreciate that the author wanted a book that could be read in one sitting, but in that case, it might have been better to include only three or four factions. What Cinderheim does include is the race/species of every major NPC, and it’s the usual Star Wars cantina menagerie one sees in most D&D 5e books. Firearms are also present. These things can be waved away, or altered if they offend your sense of sword & sorcery. I would like to have seen more on the plans and motivations of the demons and their c...
With a breadth of new mechanics, items, and player options all packaged in a pleasantly organized book, the Adventure College Student Handbook is a really great addition to my 5e expansion library. Had a ton of fun streaming a game with these mechanics included, and I would recommend it to players both new and old.

A whole town nestled into an old colosseum... what a cool concept. And having all the different variations allows you to fit into the exact setting of your campaign. Or use all the variations to tell a story that takes place in the town itself. Super versatile with a neat theme!

Like most of the 100 series of books put out by Azukial Games, this one is another solid contribution. The book provides short one paragraph rumors to use in Changeling the Lost games. These rumors could be used as story hooks with a little effort on a storytellers part.

To hell with this... literally lol. Talk about hitting the theme well. What an excellent fire themed dungeon. The metal grates provide that forged in hell kind of experience. Can also work well as a Bowser's Castle if you're ever running a Mario themed setting.

I absolutely adore this game! The way dungeons are handled is amazing. It is simple, and gave me something to do while in a slump. Thamk you for a lo ely game!
What a fantastic take on a modern magic academia setting! I find the danger a lot of modern 5th Edition-compatible settings face is instability and power imbalance, but you won't find that here. The mechanics feel solid and well-tested: even the smartphones. I'm looking forward to integrating a lot of what I picked up here into my future campaigns. I especially like the unique species designs: they're fun and original.
